We recommend that your pet has an annual vet visit. This visit helps us monitor your pets general health including their weight, dental health, joints and heart health. Any questions you have will be answered and advice can be given on parasite control. This visit is also a time for us to administer your pets annual vaccinations. Vaccinations are crucial to protect your pet from potentially fatal but thankfully preventable diseases. Boarding and grooming establishments often require up-to-date vaccinations also. With every vaccination appointment your veterinarian will make a tailored vaccination schedule appropriate for your pet going forward, according to their age, previous vaccination status, and health risk.
Dog Vaccinations
We recommend a C5 vaccination to protect against Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper Virus, Infectious Canine Hepatitis and Infectious Canine Tracheobronchitis (kennel cough). A Leptospirosis vaccine is also available for at risk dogs. Rabies vaccinations are also available for overseas travel.
Cat Vaccinations
We advise vaccination of cats against Feline Panleukopenia virus, Feline Herpesvirus I and Feline Calicivirus. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukaemia Virus can be vaccinated against but these are not considered core vaccines.
New Puppy or Kitten
Welcoming a new furry member to the family is an exciting but also daunting time. We recommend bringing your little one into the clinic for a check-up within the first week of adoption. This allows your new addition to familiarise themselves with the vet clinic, as well as lets us check for common health problems, as well as discussing vaccination protocols, parasite prevention, nutrition, desexing and any other questions that you have about owning a new pet.
